Support solutions for young people by hosting us!

Support new digital solutions for young people by hosting our design sprints.

A group of young people with their hands in together

We are working to increase young people’s ability to access youth services. To do this, we need your help. We are on the hunt for someone to host our upcoming design sprints, throughout March and April 2020

What is the project?

My Best Life is an open digital project that aims to:

  • help young people so they are better able to identify and navigate services available to them.
  • help the charity sector to improve services or access to services for young people.
  • help the charity sector to make better use of digital solutions by sharing our learning through open working.

This phase of the project aims to build on previous research and develop a minimum of two viable digital prototypes and a road-map for open digital projects to the charity sector. NPC have partner with Leap, UK Youth, The Mix and many others to make this happen.

How can you get involved?

Work with us to make our design sprints a success. We want to get out of our usual offices and are looking for someone to give the design team space for 2 days a week for 6 weeks throughout March and April 2020. We are looking for a space for our team (approx 12 people) to get creative, test ideas with young people and prototype digital solutions. This is a great opportunity to support new ideas to support young people and charity sector more broadly.

What problem are we trying to solve?

Our previous research with young people and through speaking to those within the sector, we have narrowed our explore how we can increase young people’s ability to access youth services. What this looks like in practice, is still being put together. Find out more here.

Question: Why do young people have difficulty accessing youth services?

Hypothesis 1: It’s too hard to find out what services are available

Hypothesis 2: Services are not available when and where they are needed

Hypothesis 3: Services exist but are not user accessible  (culturally, emotionally, literacy etc.)

How might we improve the online discoverability of youth services? How might we improve the availability of services when and where young people need them?

How might we reduce the barriers to young people accessing services?
